Three people arrested in connection with deadly shooting in DeKalb County

Investigators used evidence and interviews to identify three suspects who are now in custody.

DECATUR, Ga. — Three people are now in custody for their involvement in a shooting that left a man dead in January, police say.

The incident took place on the morning of Jan. 3. 

DeKalb County Police officers responded to a person shot in the 2700 block of Kelly Lake Road. They found 43-year-old Mequel Hightower lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

Hightower was pronounced dead at the scene.
