ATHENS, Ga. — The final defendant in a gang-related, drive-by shooting case that took the life of a 3-year-old in Athens two years ago will spend 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to reduced charges.

Julian Cubillos was the lone defendant out of four in the shooting death of Kyron Smith, whose case had not yet been resolved. The other three, Dakious Echols, Jayden Brown, and Desmontrez Mathis, pleaded guilty or were convicted of murder,
