Massachusetts political parties stand by as their membership rolls evaporate

NEW PARTY REGISTRATION figures released by the secretary of state’s office once again show Massachusetts party membership withering. The newly released data show about 62,000 fewer party members compared to 2025 data, continuing the slide that began in 2020. At the same time, the number of unenrolled voters not affiliated with any party grew by over 220,000.
