Additional funding for Division of Emergency Management approved, but opinions split on vote
The newly installed leader of the Division of Emergency Management, Jared Perdue, appeared Friday before the Joint Legislative Budget Commission to ask for additional state funding.
“The division’s second request is for an additional $250 million in budget authority, in the Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund, in order to pay outstanding financial obligations to disaster response and ongoing immigration operations,” he said.
