Gov. Moore insists Maryland’s budget is balanced; watchdog calls it ‘political math’

MARYLAND (WBFF) — As Maryland’s budget and tax policies become a central political flashpoint, competing claims about whether the state is truly balancing its books are drawing new scrutiny.

Gov. Wes Moore has repeatedly cast his administration as fiscally responsible, saying, “You know as governor what I do every year? I balance the budget,” and arguing, “You need to control your spending and cut the size of the deficit.” Moore has also pointed to tax relief, saying, “We’ve cut taxes for the middle class and for military families.”
