RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Commissioners on the Public Utilities Commission serve a six-year term which are staggered. It is currently represented by Chris Nelson, Kristie Fiegen and incumbent Gary Hanson. Hanson not seeking reelection, leaving an open seat.

Longtime South Dakota lawmaker Frank Kloucek is seeking to return to state government, running as the Democratic nominee for the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC). A fourth-generation farmer, Kloucek has lived and worked on his family farm in Scotland, South Dakota, since the 1980s alongside his wife, Joanie.
