Mitsubishi recalls 108,000 vehicles: See the affected models

The recall is due to potential issues with the vehicles’ liftgate gas spring cylinders, according to the NHTSA.

WASHINGTON — Mitsubishi is recalling more than 108,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to potential issues with liftgate gas spring cylinders, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said this week.

The April 20 recall affects 102,815 Outlanders manufactured between 2014 and 2020, and 5,231 Outlander PHEV, which is a plug-in hybrid, between 2018 and 2022. This is an expansion of an August 2025 recall that affected about 90,000 vehicles.
