HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — A routine day clearing debris at Hocking Hills State Park turned into a life-threatening ordeal for 32-year-old maintenance worker Philip Pohle. It was an accident so severe that doctors say many victims don’t survive.
Doctors feared that if he did survive, he wouldn’t walk again.
“I have no broken bones, and that sucker hit me hard,” Pohle said. “After the initial hit, I was kind of stunned. Did that just happen?”
