WASHINGTON — David Allan Coe, the country musician who wrote songs like “You Never Even Call Me By My Name,” “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile” and “The Ride,” has died. He was 86.
Rolling Stone confirmed his death Wednesday evening but did not know his cause of death.
The Music Universe reported he was in intensive care when he died and had been in “declining health” for years.
